Hello, my name is Cory and I have recently moved to San Diego. I have set goals to learn not only Korean, but Japanese and Mandarin Chinese. I have a great passion for the Asian cultures. Although I'm eager to learn, it's hard for me to learn without a teacher who can guide me, so therefor I am pretty much at a beginners level in any language I've tried to pursue. I couldn't find a teacher that I could afford where I had lived previously, but now that I am even closer to graduation, I really hope to have a head start on what I want to do in my life. I wish to travel and work in South Korea, maybe teach English like my sister had (though she knew absolutely no Korean).
I belive that communication and understanding is the most important thing in the word. I want to spend as much time as my teacher is available to give,seeing as my school schedule is very flexible this year. My school is also willing to work with any other programs and teachers that would be teaching any of their students. I need a patient teacher as I unfortuantly have a hard time remembering things, so I need consistancy and review. I wish to learn not only language but if my teacher could teach me some of the customs, I would greatly appriciate any other information on the culture.
I hope that I can find someone willing to work with me, in some way.

- I would like to learn the Korean language because I play baduk (GO) and would like to be able to listen to Baduk TV game reviews and commentaries.
- I am a beginner. I know a few words, but my knowledge is very limited for now.
- I need improvement in all areas, but the conversation aspect is more important to me. I want to be able to follow
- I am looking for a teacher that has patience and understanding , as Korean is rather difficult to learn. Also, it would help if he or she knows about Baduk and the most common terms that are used in Baduk.

I would like to learn mandarin because it is a very usefull language which many people today are learning. I am a beginner in mandarin but have taken mandarin when I was a kid. I have taken mandarin in class for two years now in grade 9 and 10 this year, I dont think being taught in class is working so I am looking for another alterative way. Also being taught mandarin by my dad doesnt really help either since he cant speak english. I would dedicate 2-3 weeeks for an hour and a half- two hrs to be taught mandarin. I'm looking for a fun teacher that has fun teaching skills that will teach me how to read, write and speak mandarin. Also a teacher that is easy going and is willing to teach me and to supply me with books if they use them.
