Although my native language is Cantonese, I am more expertized in English since it is my most spoken language. However, I can still communicate well enough for a decent conversation in Cantonese.
I have absolutely no knowledge in the language of Mandarin, nor do I have any knowledge of writing and reading Simplified Chinese.
The reason I am wanting to learn Mandarin is for career opportunities in the future. I feel that it will be important for me to learn the main language in China if I wish to connect in the future.
I am willing to put in all effort into learning Mandarin, as I am very interested in exploring new languages.
As for the teacher, I am looking for a teacher that will be able to communicate in English. The teacher should be able to understand English well and respond well (accents are ok ^_^.) The teacher should be able to recognize my pace, and ready to move at a faster pace if required.

A group of professional marketing employees at a telecom company in Chicago need to learn Mandarin so that they can converse with people in Hong Kong and other areas of China (large cities) about how the consumer likes their product.
T he course will be for purely conversationa l purposes and we need an instructor who has very good English in addition to teaching experience.
We need class in downtown Chicago and want to begin in late April/early May. We would like class 1 time per week for 2 hours and need to meet in the late afternoon, from 4-6 p.m., for example.
