I'm happy to meet you (online), my dear future Tibetan teacher!
My name is Irina, I come from Germany, and I am a language enthusiast, speaking fluently already 5 languages and having basic knowledge in a few more. Most of these are Indo-European languages. This time I want to take a bigger step and learn Tibetan.
Lan guage learning is my way of self-developm ent - and it should be a great method to prevent Alzheimer in an older age :)
Until know, I learned the Tibetan alphabet and the way to spell and read Tibetan syllables and words. I don't know any grammar yet and I don't have any vocabulary, except some basic words that come out from learning the alphabet (tea, parents, I etc.).
Being a beginner, I would like to start from here and to have online lessons, probably it would be best on Skype, but I'm open for new program suggestions.
I can imagine taking up to 2 classes a week.
My learning style is mostly interactive: I learn the grammar and/or the theory, but maybe it's not going to be perfect immediately. I need a lot of practice and I enjoy doing exercises as homework.
Fr om the teacher I would like him or her to be open and flexible, to be happy to get my questions and impressions.
