Hello my name is Emily and I am 15 years old. I have chosen to study Korean and Mandarin Chinese because I am interested in the cultures and language. I also believe this will aid me in college prep and entrance requirements, not to mention my future career plan to be an ESL teacher.
At the moment my Korean and Chinese are almost non-existant, so I'll need help on everything. I'ved been trying to self teach myself through books and online chatting.
I am willing to dedicate quite a bit of my time to this endeavor as it is something that I am truely interested in.
Some qualities I am looking for in a teacher are: a strong desire to teach and a good student repoir, strong organization, variety in lesson plans, excellent English language proficiency, sense of humor and approachabili ty/ease of interaction.

I have lived in China for a year and a half, I learned some basic words and very simple sentances during my time there. However I was too busy to take lessons so my Chinese never got farther then my own studies took me. I can read and write about 50 characters. I can speak (not well- tones are difficult for me) aproximately 200 words. I stayed in Wuhan, Hubei, and I'm told my Wuhanese is better then my Mandarin.

I have a zero background on Mandarin which I want to learn for purposes of accomodating Chinese clients in connection with my legal practice.
