I am learning a foreign spoken language for career advancement and sign language because I am losing my hearing. I have taken and passed spanish 1 & 2 but don't remember much. I have no sign language experience. My spanish needs to be conversasiona ly and verb conjugation, while mmy sign language would be from the beginning. I am open for suggestions on the time needed as my 2 kids will also be learning at the same time as there mother. I am looking for a laid back and flexible teacher that does not expect a top score on a test but expects understandabl e communication .

I studied 4 years in high school and 1 in college but i am very uncomfortable speaking.
My spouse is spanish speaking as well as his family and I wish to respectfully communicate with his mother/realit ives.
I would like a teacher that pushes me to be correct and is direct in expectations and presentation. I can commit to Tuesdays & Thursdays or Monday nights only if I take tues & thurs at the college but I would prefer direct instruction for practical purposes as college hasn't helped me speak so far...

I am currently living with a host family in Orosi, Costa Rica and taking one on one Spanish classes. My teacher here says I´m at an intermidate level. When I return to Dallas (in August 2008)I would like to continue my language study in group or private classes. I´m a public school teacher so I would only be able to take classes at night or on the weekends. I prefer more conversationa l based classes, that are less formal than college classes. I feel like I am learning a lot here with the way classes are structured.
