I am a complete beginner. I am interested in learning to speak Punjabi as I am marrying a Punjabi speaker. I am interested in having lessons once per week until mid to late April and then increasing to 2 or 3 times per week subsequent to that time.

My parents speak punjabi but I cannot speak it myself. I have never lived in a punjabi speaking community. I can understand a lot of the language but have trouble understanding pure punjabi. I would say therefore I am a beginner and want to learn the language to get in touch with my culture and be able to converse freely to express my feelings to my relatives in India. I want to particularly learn communication and conversation. Reading and writing is not as important as verbal communication . I can give 1-2 hrs a week preferably over the weekend.
I am looking for a patient and understanding teacher who will be able to give me the tools to learn how to converse - put sentences together, increase my vocabulary and give me the skills to learn the language as fluently and efficiently as I can.
