Description
I'm learning Spanish because it's a goal of mine to become fluent. Living in San Diego and being a teacher I want to be able to communicate effectively with some of my students' parents.
I 'm between a B1 & B2. I've studies off and on for several years and believe once I start studying consistently I'll make good progress.
I would like to improve my conversation skills and advance my listening understanding .
Now that I'm on break I can dedicate at least an hour or more a day for the next 8 weeks. Once school starts I'll have at least 20-30 minutes a day to study.
The qualities I am looking for in a teacher someone who will encourage me and teach me strategies to remember what I've learned.

Description
I am wanting to learn Italian to aid my ability in going to grad school in Italy. I am hoping to start grad school in Italy as early as September, 2025. As a 3rd generation American, English is what is spoken in my family. I'd love to be able to communicate with my relatives in Italy easier, and have a connection to my matriarchal ancestry.
My proficiency level is beginner. In my two weeks in Italy+Duoling o (along with taking Spanish in high school), I have a very basic understanding of the latin based language! I feel I need improvement in conversation and grammar :)
Id like to dedicate anywhere from 1 to 3 hours a week to language lessons. (I am flexible with a teacher's perspective on time needed to learn best). If you are in the local area of Whatcom County, WA, Id be happy to meet in person!
I am looking for qualities in a teacher that include; compassion, kindness, open minded, helpful, patient, able to reasonably challenge my growth, and a good sense of humor!

My father has recently been married to an amazing woman from the philippines, I will be visiting there next winter when we are able to go. I'm a beginner at Bisaya but I'm eager to learn more about her language and culture because just as she is new to English and the U.S., I'm going to feel awkward not knowing much when I go to the Philippines. I want to be a part of her family and learn to speak her language, please help me to learn it.

Description
I obtained a minor in Spanish in college but that was several years ago. I would say I can have a conversation at an intermediate level. I’d like to get better and more comfortable speaking so that I can be of more assistance at my job. I interview underserved children and their parents and sometimes they are Spanish speaking. I’m particularly interested in having mock conversations about the topics I discuss in the interviews, which aren’t always happy topics. We discuss interests, childhood, and school, which is fairly easy, but we also discuss trauma, abuse, absent parents, and mental health. Those topics aren’t typically taught in a classroom and don’t come up in casual conversation. Any assistance with how to learn to discuss those difficult topics would be most excellent!
