I'm a beginner and I'd like to learn Chinese (Mandarian).
I have a keen interest in learning new languages and I've always wanted to learn Chinese. I also have some books that were only available in Chinese so I'd like to be able to read them. I can dedicate up to an hour everyday in classes to learn the language. Besides that I can study the language in my spare time (about 2-3 hours everyday). I need a teacher who is patient and encouraging.

I am the Managing Director of an electronics manufacturing company in the UK. I would like to learn conversationa l Mandarin in order to improve my communication skills associated with expanding my business in China.
I have travelled in China quite frequently.
Using books, CD's and with the assistance of some Chinese friends, I have some basic knowledge.
Ideally, i would like to live with a Chinese family for say 4 - 6 weeks in the coming autumn and get some formal language instruction from a native speaker, male or female, who has patience and some teaching experience.
My ideal location would be Changsha, as I have some friends in this city and have stayed there twice.
