I am wanting to learn Japanese because I hope to live there one day. So far, the only things I know how to say is, 'Hello,' and 'Thank you.' I would like to learn every word I can in the Japanese language. I am a mother, a student, and a part-time employee; so, I don't have much time to offer. But I am a quick learner, and I have a love of knowledge. I'm looking for an instructor who preferably of the Japanese native tongue. However, an instructor who has proficient knowledge of the Japanese language will be greatly appreciates.

B eginner no formal training in the language.
2 hours a day personal study and 4 hours once or twice a week with an instructor.

I'm deciding to pick up the Japanese language out of my interest in the culture. My goal is to get off an airplane in Japan and come across any person and be able to have a conversation. My level of proficiency is beginner only for the fact that I'm looking for a solid person to be able to have conversation with while I'm learning. Improvement areas? I guess everything, but I feel that I'll be able to pick up sounds and pronunciation fairly quickly. My involvement into my studies of the language is on my own time since I'll be the one paying for them of course. The only qualities I'm looking for in a teacher is patience and understanding . A little humor won't hurt either.
