Dear prospective teacher,
W e are looking for a private tutor for our 10 year old son who is a native speaker of Mandarin but lives in the US. His Mandarin is fluent and without accent but he needs to expand his oral vocabulary and he needs to learn how to read and perhaps write (traditional characters are preferred). He has some beginner's level grasp of reading with the support of Pinying but can so far only partly read simple stories in characters. We would prefer interactive online lessons because of the higher efficiency and convenience but the teacher would have to provide a stable, good quality interactive system/softwa re also suitable for Chinese characters. Two lessons per week and some small homework would be appropriate. We expect the tutor to have a good neutral accent and a friendly, patient and engaging personality. The focus should be on every day situation vocabulary from interesting and age-appropria te sources.
