Coming from an asian family and not knowing their native language, I am very interested and eager to learn mandarin. I have no history at all with learning the language so I would be a beginner. I would love to do a lesson a week since I am also attending UBC and will be currently in other studies. I am looking for an understanding and dedicated teacher, one who tries their best to make their students excel in their areas of interest.

I wish to learn mandarin for several reasons first because it is such a useful language and is spoken by many people, I will eventually be taking a mandarin class in December and I wish to do well in it, and finally I would like to be able to converse with my friends family members who only speak mandarin.
I took a first year university course a year ago, I'm not very confident that I retained much. I remember certain vocabulary words but I have trouble following/for ming sentences. I would rate myself very beginner.
I feel I really need to learn to understand the grammar better as well as broaden my vocabulary.
I'm looking for about 1-3 hours a week, I'm not exactly certain yet because I also need to keep on top of my current university classes. I would of course practice what I learn in my home time.
I'm looking for a teacher who feels they will be able to help me with my needs. Patience for a beginner like myself and someone who doesn't mind answering questions would be an added bonus.

I live in Ekeren near Antwerp city in Belgium; and am looking for a Chinese native speaker to give weekly Mandarin lessons to my son who is 4 1/2 years old.
The preferred date and time of the lesson is Saturdays in the morning between 1000 to 1100.
