I've learned most of the alphabet, just not all at once. Every time I look at a word, I can identify each character but it's a slow & mentally painful process.
I'm going over long and short vowels recently, and while that's easy I don't remember what counts as long or short. I don't think of these things as I'm speaking English.
I start class in a couple of months and have no syllabus or course work to follow. I'm not doing much before then and I'd like whatever help you could give before then. But I do know I'll be taught a formal Persian that no one actually speaks.
