I am trying to obtain my Italian citizenship. I believe I need to at the very least an intermediate level to have effective communication . I am planing a trip back to where my maternal and paternal grandparents were born. The last attempt did not yield the information I required due to a language barrier and my inabilty to communicate properly. I haven't been exposed to converstaiona l Italian since I was a young boy, 12 years old. I will dedicate whatever time is necessary to achieve a level where I feel comfortable conversing. I'm not sure of what the quality of my lessons will or should be nor have I developed any expectations. .. yet.

I'm an American architect and am currently focused on learning Arabic as spoken in Syria, Lebanon, Palestine & Jordan. I can read and write (بالعامية، ما بالفصحى) and am looking to practice speaking and to expand my vocabulary. I also know a little Farsi and Hindi/Urdu, and I speak decently in Italian and Spanish, and I'd like to improve those as well. I'm looking for people to practice with often, to talk about all kinds of things. I'm interested in many things from books, movies, literature and music to news, politics, et al. I speak American English with a standard accent from the city.
