I have been interested in learning a second language for years. I've taken a semester of French and a semester of Latin and retained precisely ZERO of it, I can get by with a little Spanish but because I hear it so much it bores me.
I'd like to learn German for no other reason than it appeals to me. The sound and structure, I find it beautiful. ...and I've always wanted to read Thus Spake Zarathustra in its original format.
I have no background in German, I have some relatives in Washington State that speak German as a first language but I never picked any up.

Hi my name is Dana Gingerelli,
I am interested in learning American sign language to help in my career with children. My level is a very beginner one, meaning I know almost no sign language, though I am definetly ready to learn about it. The area I mostly need help in is conversation. I want to dedicate about an hour and a half every week until i have a firm grasp on the language. I am seeking one-on-one Spanish tutoring for both my high school son (age 16) and myself (age 44).
My son is the priority. He is on his third year of Spanish, and with a change of teachers has gone from A's and B's to failing. I'm not sure what the problem is, but his teacher has recommended private tutoring. We need help to get him back on track, because I would like for him to continue Spanish next year and work towards fluency.
I am hoping to have him see a tutor at least once a week, and possibly twice a week during the summer.
I am also interested in lessons for myself for work. I had two years of high school Spanish over 25 years ago, and one year of college Spanish.
