Hello.
My name is Cherie Adams. I am seeking a Japanese tutor. I have studied Japanese in college and I lived in Japan 4 years ago, for three years. I am interested in conversation and studying written Japanese. Since coming back to the U.S., my Japanese skills have lapsed. I would like to study once/week in person if possible. Qualities which I would like in a teacher are flexibilty, patience, and a kind personality. As far as lessons, I would like them to incorporate some reading, but mostly speaking.

My current job requires interaction with people whose native language is Spanish and I would like to be courteous and make every effort to converse with them without the need to ask them to speak to me in English.
A lso, would like to learn German and French for future travels to Europe. Again, so that I might make at least an effort to speak the native language.

I am currently in Graduate School at the University of Minnesota and plan to intern in Odessa, Ukraine this summer. I have had a little Russian language experience (two years at Concordia Language Camps, and one month at Smolny Institute in St. Petersberg), but would like to learn much more before departing this summer. I would prefer to meet on or around campus, or perhaps downtown, close to the train. I would like one lesson a week for about five months.
