I would like to learn Hindi (beginner). I have traveled there 3 times this last year for business with a total time of almost 5 months stay in both Northern and Southern India. I have a desire to learn the language so that I can communicate better with my colleagues and friends in India. It will also help with my career.
I would like to dedicate about 4 hours a week in 2-hour sessions to start. What do you recommend for a beginner?
The teacher needs to be kind, respectful, compassionate and supportive. The lesson quality should be one of my interest and provide me with the ability to carry on a decent conversation.

I studied Russian for 2 years in college. I will be traveling to Moscow in Mid-March for 8 weeks to improve my language skills. It has been 2 years since I was in college so I they have dropped off since then. I will be studying in one of the programs in Moscow, but I am also interested in taking some private lessons. I would also like to take some lessons before I head over to refresh my language skills. I wish to focus on learning to grammar and speaking.

I am interested in beginner to Intermediate Russian Language study. I have a very basic background from self study. I am looking for 1 hour of Live Online study and at least 1 hour of 'homework' to keep me practicing the skills. I have studied 4 languages in a serious academic setting and hence have a solid understanding of many of the mechanics. This being said, I have no exposure or experience whatever with Kurdish.
The reason for my interest is that I am working for a firm that has long term business interests in the Kurdish Region of northern Iraq. I am working on some of the projects for that reagion and hence would benefit significantly from exposure/prof iciency in the language.
I would probably most benefit from 1 to 2 meetings per week of an hour or two each so that I could maximize the amount of home-study and minimize my expense.
Finally, I would probably most benefit from a conversationa l type approach with academic resources that I could work on in between meetings. My past language experience has led me to believe that the only way I will comprehensive ly grasp and retain a language is through natural applied use, not merely academic or intellectual understanding and memorization.
