I have studied Chinese for almost three years. One year I studied at the Beijing Center for Chinese Studies at the University of International Business and Economics (Dui Wai Jing Mao Da Xue) in Beijing, China. My senior year of college I studied advanced Chinese one on one with my laoshi. I was tested in my Chinese lanuage capabilities and scored an Advanced Low. I would like to improve my grammar, conversationa l skills, and become celompletely fluent in Chinese. I would like to meet once a week for two hours or twice a week for one hour. I already have an Intermediate and Advanced book I would like to use. I completed the Intermediate, but would like to review the grammar. The book is Cheng & Tsui Integrated Chinese Level 2. My advanced book I will use is China Scene: An Advanced Chinese Multimedia course. It is very important for me to become fluent in Chinese.

I'm a 17 year old africa-americ an that has been very interested in asian languages for since i was 8. Even though it was Japan that first interested me with their advanced animation for year, Korea stole my heart. I started off with the music, then a few shows and now i'm learning the dances and teaching it to my friends. This is my passion. I want to learn this language so with all my heart. I am a very quick study and i have no doubt that i'll be able to learn the language quickly.

I am interested in Japanese language and culture. My exposure to Japanese is limited to anime (with subtitles). I want to be able to read Japanese magazines, manga, and simple novels.
The amount of time I am willing to devote to my lessons are 1-2 hours per week.
