05-A: Adjectives (Comparisons)

Adjectives are describing words. They belong to the category of "changeable types of words" and they are used in different ways, one of which is to compare things and people:  +   Das Haus ist klein. = That house is small. (Basic form) Das Haus ist kleiner. = That house is smaller. (Comparative) + ...er Das Haus ist am kleinsten. = That house is the smallest. (Superlative ) + ...sten Das kleinste Haus der Welt. = The smallest house in the world. (Superlative - attributive) + ...ste When we learn new Adjectives it is useful to learn the Comparative and the Superlative as well:
Exceptions: 1. Vowels in monosyllabic Adjectives change from a = ä; o = ö; u = ü 2. Some Adjectives (more than given here) are irregular
