TAGALOG VOICE PATTERNS ( ACTIVE AND PASSIVE)

ACTIVE VOICE (and I call the Verb active verb)
ACTIVE (BINIGYAN AT NAGBIGAY)
Binigyan niya ng bulaklak si sarah.
TV DOER DO IO
BINIGYAN NIYA SI SARAH NG BULAKLAK
TV DOER IO DO
Si sarah ay binigyan niyA ng bulaklak.
IO HV TV DOER DO

Siya ay nagbigay ng bulaklak kay sarah.
DOER HV TV DO IO
SIYA AY NAGBIGAY KAY SARAH NG BULAKLAK
DOER HV TV IO DO
Nagbigay siya ng bulaklak kay sarah.
TV DOER DO IO
NAGBIGAY SIYA NG BULAKLAK KAY SARAH
TV DOER DO IO
Kay sarah siya nagbigay ng bulaklak.
IO DOER TV DO


-----VERB-NAGBIGAY------
The sentences above are all the same...it means “HE GAVE SARAH A FLOWER.”. The two verbs are both IN active voice. They are different in spelling but the same in meaning. They have different pronoun after them.

PASSIVE VOICE (and I call the VERB passive verb)
PASSIVE (IBINIGAY)
Ibinigay niya ang bulaklak kay sarah.
TV DOER DO IO
IBINIGAY NIYA KAY SARAH ANG BULAKLAK
TV DOER IO DO
Ang bulaklak ay ibinigay niya kay sarah.
DO HV TV DOER IO
Kay sarah niya ibinigay ang bulaklak.
IO DOER TV DO


Tagalog or tagalog sentences have different structures or patterns. It depends on what verb to be used, what pronoun after the verb, and the pronoun after the direct object.
Adding suffixes or prefixes will yield you different verbs but they are the same in meaning.


For Active voice
DOER+(HV)+TV +IO+ DO OR DOER HV+ TV+DO+ IO
TV+ DOER + IO+ DO OR TV+DOER+DO+IO
IO + DOER + TV + DO

IO+ HV+TV+ DOER+DO(OTHER VERB)

For Passive voice
DO+HV+TV+DOER+IO
TV+DOER+DO+IO OR TV+DOER+IO+DO
IO+DOER+TV+DO
DOER+ TV + IO+ DO



TV=TRANSITIVE VERB
IO=INDIRECT OBJECT
DO=DIRECT OBJECT
HV=HELPING VERB
