I'm learning Greek with Georgia Bastone, excellent teacher and methodology I'm learning Greek with Georgia Bastone since 2012. In a relatively short period of time I was able to comprehend, read and write it. I was amazed how quickly I was able to have in polite form, basic conversation, with anyone who speaks Greek. Georgia has developed a specific method for English-speaking people that makes the process of learning Greek easy and fast. Her emphasis is on conversation, however learning to read and write was an added bonus for me. Every time I visit the country I speak Greek with the people there, it’s always a joyful experience. The people highly respect that…they are so excited and friendly, showing me with their actions and willingness to help if needed. I’ve been praised by them for speaking Greek well…I like when they appreciate the effort I made to learn their language because we all know it’s not one of the romantic’s or an easy language to learn. Also, as a cross-cultural coach, while teaching the language, Georgia taught me about the people, their way of life, the meaning of their traditions, sifting masterfully through the ancient times while connecting the dots of today’s Greece. Fascinating! Learning Greek and communicating with the people in their native language has taught me a lot. I wasn’t truly aware….a new perspective as woman unfolded… it’s had a positive impact on my life in many ways. I see how more closely they interact and want to be friends, sharing their life with me…and before I knew it, I’m perceived as one of them. Suddenly, I have many Greek friends and I’m now part of a different culture. A culture of joyful, happy, loving, and caring people. I love maintaining and improving my language skills with Georgia. She is a key resource as I continue to learn about Greece and my go-to for any questions I may have. If you are a Veteran, as I am – rest assured she has a special place for you in her heart! I highly recommend her to everyone who is interested in learning the Greek language. You will find in doing so an exciting and interesting journey, with life changing possibilities. This is just great! For forty years I've trying to learn greek through a whole cross section of teachers and settings. Church programs, after school programs, CDs....all of it was boring grammar and no real insight and love of the language. I could not speak or read at all. I have a PhD in sociolinguistics, and love language. Georgia Bastone is the very first Greek teacher who has assessed where I was, what I needed, and set a road map for how we are going to get there, and I see results every week. The techniques, the teacher's knowledge and experience, online technology, and love of the language, is fascinating and simply great. I never feel uncomfortable for one moment and look forward to every lesson. When I'm on the subway in NYC I hear Georgia's clear, Greek voice in my mind. I enjoy the process a lot. I highly recommend Georgia to anyone who is serious and motivated to learn the language. It doesn't matter how much you already know, or don't know. She will tailor her teaching exactly to you. I want to take the opportunity to thank the site "Language-School-Teachers.com", and the webmaster, Dan Yuen for this brilliantly created website that helped me to find exactly the teacher I needed.
