Teaching Approach

We will begin with reading Hebrew consonant-vow el combinations and then move to proper pronunciation and accent of muli-syllable words. At the same time we will learn some basic vocabulary and introduce bible passages where that vocabulary appears.

Program Description

My course is designed for students of the bible who would like to read and translate the Hebrew words. There are many excellent self-guided courses online and we will take advantage of available online resources. I will guide you in your studies. I will provide feedback on your pronunciation and share learning strategies which will help you in grammar study and vocabulary building. We will look together at Hebrew verses to identify familiar words and grammatical forms.

Teaching Experience

During my training at the University of Judaism in Los Angeles in the 1980's, I worked one on one with students interested in Hebrew study as an entry point to Jewish learning. I also served as a Hebrew school teacher for elementary school children.
