I work with one private client at a time (one-to-one learning approach). This will give the learner enough time to learn intensively with his/her own pace. The course is very flexible. The learner is able to choose his/her convenient time to learn.

Stage one:
At this stage, the course begins with elementary lessons such as greetings and self-introduc tion and finishes up with lessons of self-expressi on in everyday life e.g. at grocery stores, at bank, at post office, making telephone calls etc.
Stage two:
At this stage, the learner will start to write short field notes, personal and official notes and to design questionnaire s. They will be able to prepare and write short functional speeches.

This short-course emphasizes Swahili language useful in conducting fieldwork and surveys in the communities, as well as culturally specific notions.
Swa hili is an African language spoken extensively in Tanzania, Kenya, some parts of Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Congo and some southern part of Somalia.
Thi s is a beginners’ course intended for those who do not have any knowledge of Swahili. The course is especially helpful for researchers, international students, expatriates planning to do field work in East Africa — who will arrive at their research locations having already developed significant language skills.
They will be able to use the acquired language skills as soon as they arrive and socialize with people in the community as well as design and conduct their research.
On completion of the course, learners will have a strong foundation to build on and the confidence to at least start conversations in Swahili. Learners will have a basic grasp of the language as well as better understanding of communicating with respect to the local culture.

T he delivery method can consist of one or combination of any of these options: Online lectures, Skype meetings, Phone calls, whats-app video calls/chats, Emails, Blog posts, Online Chats, and communities relevant to your field of interest.

I am a Swahili-langu age enthusiastic based in the United Kingdom. I am a native Swahili speaker. I have assisted non-Swahili people to interact with Swahili communities in both development projects and social settings.
