    Teaching Approach

During the lesson or intensive sourses, the notion of "linguistic unbloking" is always highlighted, especially with French students . Indeed, i noticed that many French students tend to be very embarrased and self-consciou s when it comes down to communicate in English( bad memories from school, fear to make mistakes, etc. ..); very often, once they get over this problem, they improve very quickly.
therefore, I try to organise, when possible, Franco-Englis h meetings , to use and create material which is clear, funny, and enjoyable, and above all, to give "keys" to the students which will enable them to communicate efficiently as soon as possible: they learn how to bypass a word they ahev forgotten or never learned, even at the very beginning, how to use "lexical bridges"espec ially between French and English, how to be aware of the notion of "intercultura lity", how to deal with the musicality of the target language.
    Le ssons generaly revolve around
    - the notion of "durée"( we systematicall y go over the vocabylary from the previous lesson at the beginning of each new lesson, generaly through a game, or as a warmer)
    - conversation, even with beginners, for a few minutes, in the target language, without any correction: the aim is to communicate, and to be understood
    - repeating new notions under different form, on a long term basis, until they are totaly acquired
    - using the outside world as much as possible (administrati on, shops, etc...)
    - offering varied "formulas"( weekly lessons, artistic or cultural meetings, intensive courses, intercultural days out, etc.....

    Program Description

    English and French tuitions.
I've started an "association" to be able to teach both languages, plus to organizse anything in keeping with languages in general.
I passed a Masters Degree in English in 1996, and I spent four years in an English-speak ing country .
I've been teaching for 15 years now, and I have learned to adapt to any kind of public ( which is actually what I'm insterested in .
I also passed a "concours" in the French national education a few years ago, but I have chosen not to use it, in order to meet and work with different students , in different situations, and above all to adapt to each students' objective.

    in France:

4 years as teacher and organiser of "centre de formation" in a local association ( creating classes in small cities or rural areas, teaching, creating teaching material , organising meetings and cultural events, organising linguistic stays and twinnings)
I 've just started a new association in order to be self-employed .

    In The UK:
2 years as a French assistant in secondary schools
1 year as a sub teacher in secondary schools
4 years of private tuition- self-employed

    Frequently Asked Questions

    - I teach only in the mornings and afternoons, and at lunchtime, from monday to friday.
    - I ask students to pay at the end of each lesson, or to pay a global price for a whole course after the first lesson( which makes the price go down)
    - I've been used to teaching in very stressful and stressed situations, or with difficult teenage students ( Northern Ireland for instance), which taught me, in return, how to adapt to diffrent situations.

    Cost of Lessons

Depends a lot on the length of the course, frequency, objectives etc...
Gener ally, 30 euros per hour.
But do not hesitate to contact me, as arrangements are generally made for courses including several hours a day, etc....
For group lessons, the price is usually 8 euros per person ( depending on the number of students, of course)
