Here are a few learning outcomes I have set myself to teach each student, with my interactive, fun and challenging teaching style.
Lev el 1:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to use simple verbs in the present tense; engage in basic conversations involving greetings/int roduction of self and the description of things; know general expressions and short phrases; and become familiar with the fundamental geography and culture of France and Francophone regions of the world.
Level 2
Upon successful completion of this :course, the student will be able to engage in conversations involving themselves, each other and their immediate surroundings; name everyday objects, expand their knowledge of French pronunciation through reading and role playing, including increasingly complicated sentences and paragraphs and to gain a better understanding of French and Francophone culture.
Level:3 Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to use more complicated French vocabulary in dialogues and written work; to correctly use present and reflexive tenses; and to continue to engage in increasingly complex conversations in French.
Lev el 4 :
Upon completion of this level, students will have deepened their knowledge acquired in Intermediate 1 and 2 classes, and be able to successfully use all working verb tenses in an interactive manner. Past tense will become very familiar to students at the end of this course with the introduction of Passé Simple and listening and reading exercises in sophisticated past tenses.
Lev el 5:
Learn to form logical, coherent opinions then present, support, and defend these opinions in debates. Debates must be able to read and synthesize information, and then summarize and support their ideas. Students will develop their speaking, listening, note-taking, and writing skills, and will improve fluency, confidence, and critical thinking skills

Frequently Asked Questions
|
|
|
How difficult is it to master the French accent?
No t as hard as you think! The secret is to articulate. At first, you’ll need to exaggerate your mouth movements to hit the correct sounds and pitches, but with practice it will come naturally. You will need to repeat every new word out loud multiple times, as well as train your ear to listen to pronunciation s and intonations. I’ll be sure to go through particular exercises with you.
Is it hard to learn French?
In short, yes. You will discover new aspects that are foreign to the English language, such as the frequent use of accents, greater number of verb tenses, differentiati on between feminine and masculine in verb conjugations and nouns, silent letters in pronunciation , etc. All things take time, but you will get the knack of it fairly quickly with practice – it is a matter of habit.
How much will it cost to learn French?
Ad ults: £ 15 per hour
Stude nts: £10 per hour
Child ren: £7.5 per hour
How can I practice on my own?
You should listen to the radio (e.g. RFI), watch the television (e.g. TV5), as well as watch French movies (first with English subtitles, then with French subtitles, then without subtitles!), read French magazines.
Do not get discouraged! What counts the most is that you enjoy yourself! And your progress will come naturally.
