Teaching Approach

The first lesson will always be an evaluation of the students skills. After this initial session, further ones will couple the points of interest for the student with grammar points which need to be covered. Although I am likely to set grammar homework (if the student wishes it), the lessons themselves are intended to build student confidence to speak in a fluid manner. I have experience teaching both adults and children alike but, evidently, my style will vary for each student's interests and needs.

Program Description

I'm a English Language and Literature student currently based in Berlin. English is not only my native language but also my passion. I have experience teaching many different levels and the most important thing for my classes is to come willing to discuss something of great interest to you. No one can learn if the subject is of no interest to them and in this way I will tailor the lessons specifically to the student.

Teaching Experience

I worked as a student assistant at my high school, for younger students who did not have English as a first language. This was a very valuable experience as I was teaching students of all abilities between the ages of 11 and 16.

Also, when I was studying in China, I tutored adults in a variety of Business English classes and I also tutored a boy who had excellent written English but lacked confidence to speak. We overcame this by only discussing the topics that interested him, such as the computer games which he enjoyed.

What's your teaching schedule?

Quite flexible! It's the beauty of being a student myself! At the end of one lesson we will arrange next week's and we will try and find a time that will fit us both well.

Larg est class size?

I teach private classes for €15 and classes for up to 4 students for €10. My limit is only four as it is best that we meet either in a café or at the students home - if this is easiest for them. I have no designated venue but we will find a place which suits all of us well.

What is your payment policy?

Th e easiest for all of us is probably cash at the start of the lesson.
