Teaching Approach

I can assign a text, we can work through it together and you can send me assignments via email. I can mark them, send them back with corrections (if you need any) and we can discuss errors during our next lesson. I can also teach advanced Latin--we can read Vergil together, or Caesar, or Cicero. Whatever you would like. I have experience with classical, medieval, renaissance and later Latin.

Program Description

I have taught Latin for almost 40 years. I am patient and kind and have taught children from age 8 to older adults. I have taught at University and have been a private teacher and tutor. I have also taught AP Latin. I would be willing to teach online using Skype or Facetime. I also teach in my own home. I charge $30.00 per hour. I love teaching Latin--it is my favorite language.

Teacher Training

I have an B.A. in Classics; an honours B.A. in Latin and History; an M.A. in Ancient History. I have taught 1st and 2nd year Latin and Roman Civilization at the University level; I teach children usually from Ecce Romani; I can use Wheelock, the Cambridge Text (which I do not think is user friendly for beginners) and Learn to Read Latin, or any other text you prefer. Wheelock is sometimes the easiest to learn from if you are working mostly by yourself.
