Teaching Approach

A fun, dynamic, and interactive class that will help you tune your ear and tongue towards increased fluency intermittent with lots of cultural stories of several French-speaki ng countries.

Program Description

Native French speaker and long time French instructor, Sylvie Garnero, introduces you to or helps you perfecting in the French language. Through observation and actual practice, you will learn how the French communicate and then replicate it through the use of proper words and grammar.

Teaching Experience

I have been living in Hawai'i for 30 years and teaching my native language at all levels for many years. A true believer in the importance of learning at least another et language in order to develop and/or to keep your brain working, I enjoy starting children at a very young age and like to 'entertain' seniors.

Teacher Training

Born and raised in France, I studied at the University of Paris IV (Sorbonne) and then Paris VIII (Vincennes-Sa int Denis) where I received a B.A. with a major in ESL and an M.A. in Linguistics.
I am constantly travelling and/or interacting in the French language with native speakers. I am also a certified commercial translator from the Alliance Française where I taught in New York a while back.

I have a broad schedule and accommodate students but I like the class(es) to be paid in advance to show your commitment.
I am professional and won't waste your money and/or time as I do not like mine to be wasted! For the same reason, I enjoy having fun during classes: if you are not bored, I am not either :-)!

Cost of Lessons

I usually charge $44/hour during the week and $50 during week-ends.
