Teaching Approach

I would first like to discuss his/her needs and targets with the learner, and decide on the strategy together. I prefer developing a rough schedule according to this strategy in order to motivate the student. I make the effort to provide the learners with activities which help them apply their theoretical language skills to practical uses. I use text books and work books but also try to integrate original material into my teaching practice.

Program Description

I am currently working as an English Language Instructor in an institution, as well as giving private lessons in English and Turkish. I have experience in teaching to different age groups. I can focus on a specific aspect of the language or deliver general lessons depending on the needs and goals of the learner.

Teaching Experience

I am working in a university as an English Language Instructor. I deliver a variety of lessons, some of which focus on writing skills and speaking skills, along with others which emphasize reading and critical skills by integrating literature into the language classroom. I have been working as a private tutor in English and Turkish, with learners of different ages. Depending on the needs and targets of the learner, I either original lesson plans or provide supplementary lessons to an existing learning plan.

Teacher Training

After graduating from an private American School in Istanbul, I continued my studies in United Kingdom, where I finished BA English Studies at the University of Nottingham. Since my graduation I have been giving private English lessons to Turkish learners and Turkish lessons to foreigners. I have been working in a university as an English Language Instructor since the beginning of the academic year.
