I've been teaching for 6 years : as a swimming/life guarding instructor and a french teacher. I've had all group of ages (1-70years old). I've also been working for a while in Japan.

I would like to point out the importance of having a good ambience in the class. A positive atmosphere starts with a teacher's attitude, and so I always walk into class with a smile. From that starting point, I improve classroom harmony by getting the students to know each other, through team work: if your students know each other, you will have a better ambience and so teaching will be easier.
Be ing creative and resourceful is a necessary quality for a teacher. When I was giving private French lessons in Tokyo, I learned how to create my own interesting and fun teaching materials, such as exams, games and activity sheets, with a very low budget. Being able to make your own activities from scratch is essential.
Teaching is all about learning, and travelling is a good way to learn new methods. In Montreal, I got to feel how it’s like to have multicultural class. In Tokyo, I saw how to maintain the students interested and willing to learn. In North Stradbrook, I learned how to gain respect and trust from the students, by being not only well prepare but also passionate about your job.
I’m a teacher that knows how to create a welcoming environment, how to build a lesson from scratch, that loves creating all kinds of new activities and that is always looking for new ways to become a even better teacher.
