I have taught Bulgarian and English, both as a foreign and first language, to hundreds of people, adults and children, all over England during the past 10 years. Most of my students wishing to learn Bulgarian started with me from scratch or after months and years of battling on their own with self-teaching . Those of them who took the lessons to heart, were delighted to report that a few months down the line they were able to understand and say more and more. I prepare my own materials and work out my teaching programmes to suit the individual requirements and preferences of every student. Students are encouraged to give feedback and suggestions about their learning - teaching and learning do not work in one-way streets. In addition to the lesson contact time I also offer extra support via email, Internet, telephone.

Program Description

Tailor-made programmes to meet individual or groups goals and preferences as quickly and as painlessly as possible. I am a qualified linguist at Masters level and trained teacher of English and Bulgarian. I have extensive experience in teaching English and Bulgarian at various levels and for various purposes and am equally well-versed in helping students understand the grammar and structure of the language and/or develop practical conversationa l skills. I recommend at least one session of 120 minutes per week and encourage a minimum of, let's say 15 minutes a day, revising or at least thinking about what students are learning. That ensures much faster progress than if students were to spend 10 hours of intensive study one day and then do nothing for a month. Language, probably more than any other skill, requires sustained effort over time. Students need to feel they are on the right track for this to become a gratifying passion rather than a chore.
