Teaching Approach

Teaching a foreign language is about practice. I believe that conversation should be the most central part of the learning process, and although reading is important - there is no substitute for just 'doing'! A cultural perspective to the learning is also important and by learning about the country whose language you are learning you are not only grasping language skills but how to put these in context in the most useful way. I look forward to teaching you!

Program Description

I am a qualified teacher so have lots of experience with children of secondary school age. In addition to teaching in the UK, I have taught in Kenya and in Buenos Aires in schools and businesses. I have taken several courses in teaching approaches so try and use as many different activities as possible including reading local papers, magazines and the internet!

Teaching Experience

I have teaching experience in various schools around the London area. I also taught in a central London school, teaching psychology and sciences. My english language teaching was based mainly in Buenos Aires, Argentina with some work also in Kenya, Africa.

Teacher Training

I have two degrees, one from the University of St.Andrews - with a scholarship year spent abroad at the University of Berkeley, and a Master's degree from Cambridge. This postgraduate degree is a formal teaching certification which involved teaching in many different schools around the UK and taking part in various seminars about the practices of good teaching and the underpinnings of the teaching and learning process.

Frequently Asked Questions

At the moment I am available most hours for teaching in Valencia. However I may also be moving to Seville in the future so will potentially be available there for lessons in the fairly new future. I look forward to hearing from you about your specific requirements so I can tailor the lesson to suit you.

Cost of Lessons

I charge between10 and 20 euros an hour, depending on the specification of the lesson and number of students in the class. I offer group and individual lessons.
