I offer Brazilian Portuguese conversation classes for intermediate to advanced students.
|
Teaching Experience
|
|
|
I have taught both English to Brazilians and Portuguese to Americans since 1988. All my classes have been in a private environment, accommodating my students' schedules. My students have included physicians, engineers, bankers, and other professionals who need to interact freely and comfortably in work and social situations.
Beyond teaching experience, I also do translation work between Portuguese and English, as well as simultaneous translation.

A: I seek to accommodate my students' time needs. Classes are typically held evenings and weekends.

A: I am college-educa ted, with a wide variety of interests and experiences, which gives me insight into many different facets of the Portuguese language. I have lived in both Brazil and the United States. I haved lived with one foot in each culture for 25 years. I speak both Portuguese and English every day, and continue to expand my vocabulary and knowledge in both languages.
Q: Where do you hold class?
A: Wherever is convenient! At my home, at your home, at a library, at a coffee shop, via Skype, or in any other way that is practical. The important thing is to be able to interact directly.

Cost of Lessons

My normal charge for conversation classes is $30/hr plus travel expenses if required. Other types of services may vary in cost.
