Teaching Approach

Our approach is a combination of all methods combined. There is oral/aural, written, speaking, listening, reading all combined and cooperative activities when there is more than one student. We can use a forum so as to be able to communicate.

Program Description

Lessons are tailored for the individual student according to what the students goals and objectives are. Activities are numerous,cont ain onkine practice and fun. Levels 1-4AP (Advanced Placement - Collegeboard) of Spanish are taught by a state certified teacher. Tutoring is also available for any level of Spanish.

Teaching Experience

Instructors at the Institute have taught Spanish from the Elementary level through the University level for 30 years or more. Instructors are bilingual. (English/Span ish)

Teacher Training

All instructors currently hold a Master's degree in Education and Maryland State certification in Spanish. Some also hold other State certificates in Spanish, as well. Some hold degrees at the Doctoral level in Bilingual Education/Spa nish. All instructors belong to the AATSP (American Association for Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese), MSEA, PGCEA. All instructors have taught at the university level for atleast ten years.

What relevant experience makes you an effective teacher?
All instructors have atleast 20 years of experience and a proven high student achievement rate each year. Our students outscore all of their peers throughout the County who are studying the same level of Spanish. If a student is receptive, then great learning is going to take place. It is then the job of the Institute to expose the student to Spanish everywhere... not just in textbooks.

Lessons are $20 (USD) per hour.
