I generally open with some conversation practice, such as general greetings. Then the conversation can progress depending upon the level of the student(s). I challenge my students to respond to my questions so they have a chance to speak, but I also speak so they can hear the proper accent and grammar. If the student wants to work on conversation, then we do that. If they want to review grammar, I make up vocabulary and grammar sheets to complete during the session and at home. I will adapt the sessions completely to what the student would like to accomplish.

I am more than happy to help with any level of language, from casual conversationa l skills to preparing for language exams. I will make vocabulary sheets and grammar exercises for extra practice; however, I do expect students to practice on their own between our sessions and complete sheets if necessary. I have studied languages for over fourteen years, and am happy when my students do well and have fun!

Teaching Experience

College graduate earning a bachelor's degree in Classics (Ancient Greek and Latin) and a beginning law student for fall 2010. Since middle school, I have studied over ten languages. As far as teaching experience, I have tutored an Italian student 1-on-1 for beginning English, as well as conducted beginning French and Ancient Greek classes. I am very friendly and patient, and welcome any and all questions a student may have.

~My schedule is fairly open and depends upon the student.
~Generall y I prefer to tutor in the afternoon, but any time of the day can be arranged.
~ I prefer cash but checks are also acceptable.
~ I have taught language on many levels and with students of varying abilities. I have done individual tutoring with an Italian student who was completely unfamiliar with English. After a month he was carrying on English conversation with ease. I have also taught large classes at the University level where the students had to learn the language at an intricate level in order to pass exams. And as a student of many langaues myself, I know now frustrating it is trying to learn a new language. And I know it can be daunting to learn a new language, and I am here to help make the learning fun and effective! That's a promise.
