Description I have wanted to learn Japanese for several years but I didn't have time to attend classes in a formal setting. Recently my twelve year old daughter told me that she really wanted to learn japanese. Since all of the book reports and projects that she has done recently have been about japan and Japanese culture I have reason to belive she is serious. I thought this would be a great thing for us to do together . We would both be considered beginers, my daughter will probably catch on faster . I feel I will need more help with pronunciation , I'm from the south and still have a slight accent. I would like to have at least one lesson per week, late afternoon to early evening is best. I am looking for a teacher who is patient and can make this experience an enjoyable one for my daughter and myself so that we look forward to each lesson . We have no strict time table for completion, we are willing to dedicate at least six months to try this out , and hopefully this will be the kind of experience that we will want to continue for a long time to come.

Description Aloha no! Pehea 'oe? 'O Amy Chang ko'u inoa. Noho au i Huelo ma Maui. Makemake au i haku mele. Ua ha'awina au i 101-201 'olelo Hawaii aka...It has been 7 years! (I was born on the mainland and came to Hawaii when I was 16.)
I am just trying to get back into it. I live 50 min from MCC and I have a long commute to work, so more driving isn't ideal. I sing and am writing some songs in English. I use to dance Hula Kahiko off and on for 12 years. Years ago composed a simple mele inoa that I chanted publicly. I am looking to write songs in Hawaiian. I have this one phrase right now for a chorus
Love is living inside of all of us...Aia ke aloha i ola ma loko 'ia kakou 'apau....Polo lei? I really wanted to write Ke 'ola nei i ke aloha ma loko 'ia kakou 'apau. because it works with the melody better, but I think the grammer is wrong! Is there such a thing as poetic licensing in Hawaiian? And does this phrase work with Hawaiian thinking? These are what I need kokua with!

ONline tutoring is specific for my interests and time efficient. I may take 201 in the Fall, but I can't wait until then! So not being an official student, my few Hawaiian teacher/frien ds that 'olelo are too busy for my little questions! I would like to try for once a week for a month and take it from there. Would that still be $60? let me know! a me Aloha, Amy
