I'm interested in becoming a fluent speaker of the Greek language. I am half greek from my father's side. I would like to be able to communicate more with my Greek family and understand more when they are talking about me hehehe =p. I am also planning to go to Greece either this year or next.
I went to Greek school as a child from grade 1-4. I took a continuing education course through VSB. I can read at a basic level, I just don't understand what I'm reading. I would be interested in learning the grammar as well.

I am looking for a modern Greek tutor (a native Greek speaker) in the Vancouver area to give me lessons several hours a week. I am nearing completion of a Teach-Yoursel f-Greek book, but I am finding it very frustrating studying alone, and I desperately want a teacher, particularly to help with conversation.
I have a fairly thorough grounding in ancient Greek, and I have always wanted to learn the modern language. I am planning a trip to Greece next year, and this seemed as good a time as any to start working on the language.
