I want to have some private Mandarin lessons as I have studied it for a long time previously and I don't want to go backwards in my learning.
I speak/listen at about an intermediate level and feel that brushing up on my grammar and fixing up my vocab would be helpful. I want to spend about an hour or two hours a week on my chinese. My teacher must be patient and willing to go at my speed.

I am learning mandarin as a hobby. Later on I would like to use mandarin in a business environment if I become proficient enough. I think I am a level between beginner and intermediate. I would like to dedicate as much as possible to language lessons if I find that it helps me retain the knowledge.
I'd like a teacher who is patient and doesn't not mind repeating what is taught. I also like a teacher who is innovative and would relate other things to the lessons.

Good evening and thank you for reading my message. I am looking to speak Mandarin for the purposes of career enhancement and to enjoy my personal visits to China. I also wish to improve my knowledge of Chinese history and culture. I work for New Zealand Trade and Enterprise currently. I work with Export businesses and I believe that by learning Mandarin I can effectively combine 30 years of business experience with a much greater understanding of one of our major trading nations. I am separated from my wife so have the time to devote to a new and challenging learning experience. I only speak English so learning a new language will be hard work, but I know this will be a very worthwhile achievement. I expect to be a very good student.
I can devote 2 hours a week as a minimum to study. I would like to learn to speak the language primarily and thereafter would like to progress to writing Mandarin and understanding the grammar.
I would like my teacher to be patient, direct speaking, humourous and
interested in me as a person.
I hope you can assist with my requirements.
