i am a beginner.. i applied to some masters program about middle east, if i get an admission i will need arabic. i dont know how to write, old people in my family speak arabic so i heard a lot since i was a child.. i want to learn both conversation and grammer. i would like to take lessons 2 or 3 days in a week. i want my lessons to be intensive and i want my teacher to be patient and respectful.

I'm a beginner, I'm Syrian Filipina. I want to learn my mother's and father's languages so that I can speak to them in their language. English is my native language and I would like to learn how to speak Arabic (middle eastern dialect). I am not looking to learn how to write it at this time, just how to speak it.I would like to find a tutor since the Arabic language is difficult to find at universities and such. I am a quick learner and would like to learn how to speak the native tongue. I don't mind learning the proper Arabic, however, I want a tutor who will teach me the native way as well-- since this is how the people normally speak.
I am willing to spend 4-5 hours a week, if needed. I would like to tutor mostly on Saturdays but I am availabe during the week after 4:00 or 5:00 p.m.-- if needed.

I have been studying the Arabic language on my own for the past six months or so, utilizing various books and software packages. However, I am primarily interested in developing conversationa l skills in the Lebanese dialect. My fiancee is a native of Beirut and I would love nothing more than to be able to one day converse with her and her family in their native tongue. Additionally, I am looking to take up Middle Eastern studies eventually, and knowledge of the language is a prerequisite for in-depth study. I am willing to donate much of my free time to studying and currently try to work at least and hour or two every other evening before bed. It is somewhat difficult, however, because I have no set course of study. I'm looking for a teacher who is patient and able to articulate clearly whatever lesson he/she is intending to teach.

I am currently working in Baghdad, Iraq and have a basic understanding of beginning Arabic.
Si nce I may be in Iraq for the next several years, it would be in my interest, from a career standpoint, to continue learning Arabic, both spoken and written.
I would be interested in taking one on one Arabic lessons while I am on leave, 4 times per year, in or near Arlington, Texas, on a daily basis.
I am fluent in German and do have an affinity for learning languages.
