I'm learning Mandarin as a hobby. I studied the language for 3-4 years but it was several years ago and would like to start it up again. I hope to have lessons once a week for 1.5-2 hours at a time. I pretty much would like to learn and practice conversation, reading and writing.

Hello My name is Justin Longmuir.
I am looking to learn Cantonese/Man darin. Threw out my life I have felt a void in comment venture, thus I traveled to various places and reolised I have been hitting a wall, I have no prior knowledge to the language and have been interested in braking the language block I have on myself by not limiting myself to one type of comunication. I am very passionate about obtaining new span of comunication. I would be looking to travel and teach english to others in other countries and also be able to travel teaching proper martial arts.
I am just a beginner at the start but very determind to further my undertstandin gs in many languages.
In terms of improvement I would have to say all around improvement is nessesary do to my lack of knowledge. but to be spacific I would assume that my ability to grasp conversation would be the most to be worked on, the back and forth of a conversation in which getting lost in confusion would be my weakest attrabute.
I would like to spend as much time as possible learning the languages, the more time you spend in a small period of time doing repeditive tasks is how I find to be the best way to pick up a new skill.
I am looking for a stricked teacher who is knowledgable on traditional/ new age way of speaking, I would like to be taught traditional chinese- cantonese , and then learn to pick up the relation on slang after my completion of the formal style. I am also looking for them to be able to teach me in a very organized manor , very straight to the point and no cutting corners. when it comes to lanugage , it is the most important thing to be able to comunicate, so my teacher needs to be able to understand what I am trying to ask and be able to teach me with out comprehencing my learning experiance with a language barrior. Also needs to be well mannered, For I intend to learn how to be well mannered myself in using the language .

Why am I learning foreign languages?
I have an interest in learning languages for an unexplainable reason, other than I know I have a habit of gravitating towards them.
Prof iciency Level:
Beginner Mandarin(work ing knowledge of approximately 600-800 characters)- I am working towards taking the HSK
Basic Japanese
Basic-Int ermediate French (french immersion K-3 and french classes from 4-9)
Other Languages of interest:
Ja panese, German, Spanish, Russian, Afrikaans, and Korean
Are as I feel I need particular improvement on: grammar, writing, conversation, and confidence
How much time do I wish to dedicate to my language lessons: I would like classes to be either once a week for two hours or twice a week for one hour on evenings and weekends.
What qualities am I looking for in my language teacher?
Ide ally, I would love to have a teacher with great experience, patience, easy-going, and organized.
Price Range: $10-12/hr (I`m a poor student)

Hey My name is Jacob Armstrong. Im 15, a student, avid world explorer (aka loves but is not always capable of traveling), and a huge fan of asian culture. No im not one of those teenagers who is just in for the kung fu and Manga, ive actually been in love with asian culture all my life and have a great respect for its history. Japan is my personal favorite, it intrigues me how a country can go from being a closed off community of people devout too isolation, to the epicenter of modern technology. All while retaining its culture and identity. I want to learn Japanese because when I graduate I am going over seas for a year to explore, and maybe if I get the chance do ESL tutoring (if I find a place to live near a university I will have alot of work, haha.). I think the place I want to visit most at the moment is the Golden Pavilion on Kyoto, but i read more everyday and my visit que is ever changing.
