I have taken japanese in college. I have always been interested in the culture as well as the language. I am still a beginner and have been out of practice for few years. My desire to teach and my love of japanese has lead me to obtain my TESL certification starting in September. I think I need all areas of improvement, but mainly I would like to improve on the converstion area. I would also like to learn some basic kanji. I am very dedicated and recently started to study from my japanese textbooks almost everyday. Worksheets, recommended videos and or other material would be great source for me to learn.

I am interested in learning Japanese to facilitate travel in Japan, converse with Japanese people as well as appreciate Japanese culture in a new way. I took a brief vacation to Japan at the end of 2004 and loved it but was limited by my language skills.
My current level of experience is extremely low so I need a teacher who is willing to start with the basics. I would like to dedicate an hour or 2 each week to the language lessons - either in the evenings during the week or during the day on the weekend.
I live in center city Philadelphia and do not have a car so ideally, the lessons would take place in the city.
