I have just returned from six weeks in Moscow and feel 90% on the cyrillic letters and enjoyed translating the many westernized words on signs and buildings. I am listening to Pimsleur tapes and doing Rosetta Stone computer learning. The two things that hold me back are confidence in practicing the few words I know. I would like to be in a position that forces me to talk. Also, naturally, the sounds are very difficult to dissect. I am returning to Moscow in May/June2006 for six months and I want to enhance the overall experience. One thing I have noticed is that the lovely Russian people want only perfect pronunciation or they pick you apart. I would be happy to just communicate and exchange simple ideas, the same way that they speak English.

I am a beginner and would like to learn Russian for fun. I have no knowledge of the language whatsoever. I would like 1-2 hours a week and would like to dedicate about 2-3 hours outside of class for each lesson. I would like someone whose native language is russian and is college educated.
