I am a Croatian-Amer ican. I can speak conversationa lly but I am not confident enough to always join in all conversations due to my lack of grammar skills. I have been to Croatia many times and I would like to become fluent. I need help mostly in grammar and expanding my vocabulary. I intend to return to Croatia this winter and am thinking of possibly moving there. I would like lessons to be in a small, comfortable atmosphere with focus on grammar. I am willing to dedicate at most 3 days a week to classes. I work full time so classes would have to be at night. I live in Westchester County, work in Northern New Jersey and can easily commute to NYC. Any of these regions would suffice for a meeting place.

Hello,
I want to learn Croatian because my husband is croatian and we will be traveling and possibly living there in the near future. I would also like my 3 year old son to become fluent. I am a beginner. I wish to learn Croation as my partner is from Croatia but is hopeless at trying to teach me(typical male, no patience). I would like to learn how to speak and understand the language, but not necessarily know how to write it. We are travelling to Croatia mid 2007 and I would like a basic understanding by this time so would dedicate as much time as it takes. I am looking for a teacher with patience and understanding that as an 45 year old Aussie, it might take a bit to get me used to the different pronunciation of words.
