My level of proficiency is begginer; I`ve never received any lessons whtsoever and my knowledge is basic at best.
My desire to learn Japanese stems from my profound interest in the history and cultural heritage of the Japanese nation; it will, I hope, enlighten me and nudge my curiosity sufficiently to pursue more intellectual challenges. Perhaps even the possibility to study in Japan.
I feel most weak when it comes to sentence structure, spelling (kanji) and maneuvering a conversation.
At least ten hours a week.
In my lessons, a comparable level of academic content both in ammount and in quality similar to what the average foreigner studying in Japan would be receiving. In regard to my teacher, he (she) should be an education professional or at least had prior experience in teaching foreigners.

-Proficiency level: One year of language study (Japanese) in 2007-2008 school year
-Prof icient in hiragana/furi gana. Some katakana.
-Purpose of education: Educated for college references. Kyoto University is my goal.
Area s that need improvement: Writing, Grammar, Conversation, and sentence structure.
I would like to dedicate as much time as possible to my lessons. It is very important, however, that lessons may come cheap (as I will be paying for them myself) $30-$50 an hour or less. I am a very hard worker and will undoubtedly catch on very quickly.
I am looking for a teacher that specializes in Japanese reading, writing, and speaking. I am looking for a teacher that will help me learn as much as I can in the next two years.
