| Description |
I am a linguisics major, but my university doesn't offer all the languages I want to learn. I learn foreign languages both as a hobby and as a way to keep my linguistic ability from wasting away. I am always learning, and want to keep it that way.
I speak Japanese with near-fluency, Intermediate German, Beginning Italian, and have learned a few basic words and phrases in Russian.
I learn *very* quickly. I am not exaggerating- it is simply the truth (I learned Japanese 101 in three hours).
I can faithfully reproduce an accent after about two to four hours practice.
I am only looking to improve in Russian at this time, and I have writing fairly nailed down. I know a few greetings, but not much beyond that. I have not learned much grammar or sentence structure yet. To sum it all up, I am looking for a Russian Course from the ground up.
Time is not an issue for me. I routinely spend most of a day on my language studies, and I don't bore easily with languages. In short, bring it on. I welcome the challenge.

I have been learning Japanese in Spain for 2 years, then I took another year at the university in Boston where I was preparing for my doctorate, and now that I moved to Baltimore I would like to keep it fresh as I write my doctorate in a contrastive analysis of its phonetics with those of the Spanish language. I would like a native speaker because I need to hear the real phonetics of the japanese. I also would like to improve my grammar and expand my vocabulary (it's been one whole year since I took my last lesson and I feel like I'm losing it already). I would like to study for a couple of hours a week, if it is during the weekend it would be much better, but late evenings work for me too.

Hello,
My name is Karla and I am very eager to learn Japanese I honestly speak zero Japanese at the moment and would have to being from zero. I am willing to spend as much time as necessary and as much time as the teacher is willing to give. I am very open and ready to learn and want a teacher willing and ready to teac, with a lot of patience of course since I am completely new to the language. Apart that I believe this is a great career advancemnt, I would love to learn Japanese just because. It is a nice language and I find it quite amazing. Hope to hear from you guys soon.
Sinc erely,
Karla R. Carcamo

| Description |
I want to learn another language because it is something I always wanted to do. I am very new to Japanese but I have been having a great time learning so far. The biggest place I need help is grammar. Every time I think I have a grasp on what is going on something new comes up and I get lost all over again. I study as much as possible on my own and would like to talk to a professional about the best method of learning the language. As far as a teacher goes, the biggest quality I am looking for is a native speaker. If I am going to pay someone to teach me I would prefer they be intimately familiar with the language. I have one last semester left for my Bachelors before I enlist in the Army and I would like nothing more then to spend that time learning to properly speak Japanese.
