I wish to learn Russian because I am traveling to Ukraine in July. I am a beginner and I would like to begin a foundation to converse and to be able to read cyrillic. I have until July 12 when I leave. i am looking for a native speaker who can help me. I have tried some books and software but I have questions that I have no one to ask and I wish to speak with some one who is familiar with the language to help me with pronunciation and accent. I am half Russian but haven't spoken it for nearly 15 years. I am going on a holiday at the end of this year (2008) to visit family, spending about 4 weeks over there. I would love to speak it fluently again. I never learnt how to write Russian, but I spoke it fluently up to the age of maybe 8.
I would appreciate a teacher who is going to help me remember the first language I learnt and show me how to use grammer and writing correctly.
I would like to be taught in person, perhaps 1-2 hours per week.
