My proficiency level in speaking Hawaiian is very beginner. I've traveled to Maui, Honolulu and the Big Island over 50 times in the past 15 years. This has been mostly short and long vacations, however, I've been to two of the Islands on business a number of times.
My children are almost all grown and will be in college in the next six years and I would like to move to Maui and be based there for business. So my desire is to learn as much about the language as possible.
I can devote 10 to 12 hours per week in the beginning to learn the language. I am a determined individual and professional.
I would like a teacher that can either give private lessons in the Chicago area or capable of utilizing technology so I can become proficient in the language.

I have taken two semesters of Korean language at university. (However was not very intensive and I would say that I'm still and the end of the beginner's stage).
I am learning Korean because I love Korean culture and language, and most of my friends are Korean. I find the language to be incredibly beautiful. Also, I am fairly sure that I will relocate to Korea, and would love to speak the language. I need improvement in all areas, but grammar and conversation are mainly what I'm looking for. I would like to dedicate as much time as my financial situation allows. In a teacher, I am looking for someone who is very patient and can go over things in a very intense manner (namely pronunciation ). I am looking for a person who will be friendly and motivate me to do my best!! I may have some trouble and convince myself not to do all that I should. I want a teacher who can help me to keep improving.

I am a 3rd generation Japanese-Kore an woman born in Hawaii. I want to learn how to read Korean because I am creating family tree genealogical webpages. My mother's family is Korean and many letters were written to her from her parents who came from the old country to Hawaii. I will be a true beginner in learning Korean, although I've had classes in Japanese as a child and university student years ago. Starting in autumn-early winter is the preferred time I'd like to devote to my language study since we travel during the spring and summer. I'd like to meet at least once a week. As a recently retired chicago art teacher of 39 years I am on a fixed income but willing to pay a fair hourly wage. As a fellow teacher I'd like that person to be flexible in teaching strategies since I know that reading Korean language also requires teaching me how to write the characters.
