I am learning languages for travel and academic research (I am a Professor).
I would like to devote 1-3 hours per week to learning. Right now, I wish to focus on Mandarin Chinese, spoken and written (Traditional characters).
I am a High Beginner or Intermediate speaker, and my comprehension is similar. I can read and recognise approximately 250 characters, and can write most of those.
I was formerly an ESL teacher and have some ideas about 'good' language teaching. I am looking for a teacher who is fun, intelligent, personable, competent and organised.

To whom it may concern,
I 'm Clare Xie, and I mean to learn German due to the needs of work - I'm working for a big German company and lots of them are not good at Eng though there is no big issues in oral communication amongst, and there is also possibility to be transferred to Waldorf to work in the future.
I hope to learn German in a casual and daily-talk based way, cuz I have the grammar book myself and don't want to have myself bored in the class. We could talk in German and in Eng (to facilitate the study at the beginning when my German is not sufficient enough). By the way, Eng is not really my mother's tongue - I was born in China and educated in both China and America - I was graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a computer science major.
