Hello, I am learning Japanese as I am now living in Osaka for at least the next 9 months and would like to obtain good conversationa l skills and at least a basic reading ability while I am here. Long term I may go to Universtity as a mature student and try for a degree in Japanese with a view to possibly becoming a translator. I would descibe myself as beginner level but would like to acheive a pass in JLPT level 5 in the December test and would like the lessons to concentrate on that. I would be prepared to dedicate at least 3-4 hours of class room time a day and about another 1-2 hours self studing as well.
The qualities I am looking for in a teacher is someone who is genuinely passionate about teaching the lanuage and not just following a script, and someone who is patient and understands how difficult a lanuage it is to grasp for a Westener.

Hello,
This last spring I had the opportunity to visit Japan. I would like to go back for an extended period of time next time. I should have studied the language first before going, but for next time I will be more prepared.
My Goals: I would like to become proficient and then fluent in Listening, Speaking, Reading, and writing the language. I need practice and I need a bit of direction since on this language I have been using books and CD's to study it since coming back.
My Background: I am very interested in languages and alphabets, with Japanese I will get to cover both of those interests. I learned English as a very young child to which it should be called my native language because of the level of proficiency, my German is very basic and I am not very good at it at all. I am fluent in Spanish which I learned as an adult while living in Central America from 1990 till 92, as such I have a good grasp of most of the Romance languages and would like to branch out into non Indo European now.

I am already fluent in English and I would like to learn Japanese mainly for personal development and for career advancement. My level would be beginner and therefore would like to improve in many areas, but specially conversation, grammar and if possible some cultural background, as I am also intrested in knowing more about the country. The time I would dedicate to this is variable but ideally at least 3 or 4 hours per week as I am working, lessons would be in the evening.
The main qualities I am looking for in the lessons is the possibility of individual one-on-one lessons and being able to enjoy whilst learning the language.
