For many years now I have been really interested in Poland as a country, it's history, culture, politics etc. I do voluntary work on the streets of Inverness among homeless people, alcoholics and drug addicts. In 2006, approximately 6000 Poles arrived in the highlands, many of them settling in Inverness. I have come to know many Polish families and also those who find themselves on the streets due to the above problems. I believe it would be very beneficial for me to learn to speak and read the Polish language as I meet with them on a daily basis. I have a beginner's book and a CD which I have been using for some time. It would be good for me(I think), to improve my Polish grammar and obviously my conversationa l ability in order for me to help the Polish community. As I am doing this work voluntarily, I have quite a bit of time available to learn the language. If there is someone out there who can help I would be delighted. Thank You.
