~ Proficiency level = beginner
~ Reason for learning = been living in Tokyo for 2 years already but have not picked up the language at all, and feel that it is a waste if I leave here without knowing the language. Plus, it could be a advantage for a job search in the future.
~ I need to improve on daily conversation.

I am beginner with Japanese language. I can read Hiragana but stumble through Katakana as well as some Kanji. I would like to find a teacher who will drill the basics of conversation, reading and writing. I need to learn Japanese for both academic and career goals. I would like to have lessons once or twice a week for 1 to 1.5 hours. In addidtion i hope to have homework that will require 1-3 hours of study a day.
My ideal teacher will be one with training in teaching Japanese to foreigners. As for method of instruction i would like the main language of instruction to be Japanese though at times it may be necessary to use English to explain a point or concept.
